FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


How do your services work?  

We set up our pizza trailer at your venue. Our Neapolitan style pizza is made from scratch, stretched, and topped, by hand, in front of your guests. The pizzas are baked on-site, in our brick pizza oven. Oven cook time is about 2 minutes. The pizzas are roughly 10 inches in diameter and are cut into at least 6 pieces. All pizzas are served buffet style for your guests. The base package typically feeds up to 35 people.  Additional pizza can be added to accommodate more people. Can I get your pizza without hiring you for a party?

Do you have a gluten free crust?

Due to our limited space and single working surface in the truck, we do not offer a gluten free pizza. Working in a small area (and usually with one oven), we can't prevent cross-contamination for people who have an actual gluten allergy versus gluten sensitivity. We don't want to put anyone at risk of a reaction. Because our Neapolitan style pizza dough undergoes a long, slow fermentation it both develops flavor and breaks down the protein strands that are the elements responsible for triggering gluten sensitivity in people. Our fermentation process is a minimum of 24 hours (but typically 36 to 48 hours). During that time, the yeast in our dough digests carbohydrates and converts them to alcohol, carbon dioxide, and lactic acid, thus improving the digestibility of our pizza. We have gotten feedback from several customers with non-celiac gluten sensitivity that have had no side effects from our pizza. 


What is the footprint of your setup, how much space is required?  

We require a level hard flat service. Driveways, cement or tile floor, and sidewalks work best.  Our overall set up requires an approximately 20ft x 20ft area. Our pizza trailer is 6ft x 14ft.  We use a 10ft x 10ft tent and our pizza oven requires approximately 4ft by 8ft of working space.

Do you have a non-dairy pizza option?
All of our red sauce pies can be non-dairy by simply leaving off the cheese. We also have non-dairy vegan "cheese" available for substitution. Unfortunately, d
ue to our limited space and single working surface in the truck, we can not prevent cross-contamination for people who have a dairy allergy.

Can you set up in my backyard?
If your backyard is accessible with our pickup and trailer, yes. We are able to move most of our equipment out of our trailer, if necessary. For service setup
away from our trailer there is an additional charge of $150.

What time do you arrive?

We arrive approximately 90 minutes prior to service time.
 

What is included?

The pizza. We also offer additional catering options. Our large meat and cheese tray, for 40 to 50 people, includes meat, cheese, and crackers. The large tray is $100. Our mixed green salad is $3 a serving. We serve that with Italian dressing and croutons. For the salad, you order as many servings as you'd like and we serve it buffet style. Plates, forks, and napkins can also be provided upon request for $1 per person/setting.

When do you need to know my pizza choices and/or additional pizzas needed for my party?
All food selections and event details must be finalized 10 business days prior to your scheduled event.

 

Can I choose more than two specialty pizza options?

With our Specialty Pizza package, you are able to choose 2 specialty pizzas from our menu, in addition to our basic pies (garlic cheese, cheese, pepperoni). If you would like to add other specialty pizzas to the lineup, it's $50 each.

I don't see my favorite pizza on your menu, can you still make it for me?
We can definitely work with you to create your favorite specialty pizza with ingredients accessible to us.

 

How long is a typical service? 

We plan for up to 2 hours of service time for our base packages. Larger events, with production of 50 pizzas or more, will require additional service time at a rate of $150 per hour. 
 

Does your oven give off smoke?  

Once the oven is at temp for pizza production, there is little to no smoke produced. 
 

How far will you travel? 

We typically stay within 200 miles of Aberdeen, however, will consider any inquiry.  A mileage fee of $2 per mile roundtrip, applies to parties outside of Aberdeen city limits. 
 

Do you require access to electricity and water? 

No. We travel with a generator and water in our pizza trailer.
 

How is the pizza served?

We provide the service buffet table for all events, unless other specification have been arranged. Pizzas are served family style on warmers from the buffet table.
 

What if it rains?  

We can make pizza in challenging weather; however, event cancelation may occur with severe weather, 20 plus mph winds, lightning, and/or hail. In the event we need to cancel due to bad weather, we will reschedule to a date that works for both parties.

 

Are you Licensed and Insured?

Yes, we are fully licensed, Food Safety Certified, and insured for product liability. All events will incur an event insurance fee.

When can I redeem a Fundraiser Donation/Auction Item or Gift Card/Gift Certificate? 

Please contact us via email [lizzyspizzaparty@gmail.com] or phone [605-228-9900] to check availability for redemption of  any form of credit you've been issued towards Lizzy's Pizza Party. As a seasonal business, our preference is that all credit is redeemed the same season it is issued. All Gift Cards, Gift Certificates, Fundraiser Donation items, and Auction Items expire one year from issue date.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

If notice of cancellation is given at least 30 days prior to the date of the event, the deposit is returned. If services are canceled 10-29 days prior to the event, 50% of the deposit will be returned. Cancellations less than 10 days no deposit will be refunded.
